Truth or Pulse ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using Truth or Pulse, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Phone number (for authentication)
• Display name
• Profile photo (optional)
• Date of birth (to verify age requirements)

Health Data (Apple HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, we access heart rate data from Apple HealthKit. This is important to understand:

• Purpose: Heart rate data is used solely for entertainment purposes to create the video overlay feature within the game.
• Local Processing: Heart rate data is initially processed on your device.
• Storage: When you send a Pulse, the heart rate data from that recording session is uploaded and stored with your video response.
• No Medical Use: We do not use this data for medical diagnosis, treatment, research, or any health-related purpose.
• No Marketing: We do not use health data for marketing or advertising.
• No HealthKit Writing: We do not write any data back to HealthKit.
• No Third-Party Sharing: Health data is never sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

User Content

We collect and store:

• Video responses you record
• Questions you create and send
• Heart rate data associated with recordings

Device Information

We automatically collect:

• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• App version
• Push notification tokens

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the App, including features accessed and interactions within the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Truth or Pulse game experience
• Authenticate your account and maintain security
• Send push notifications about new Pulses and friend activity
• Enable you to connect with friends
• Improve and optimize the App
• Respond to your support requests
• Enforce our Terms of Service

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our App:

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase for:

• Authentication (phone number verification)
• Database (storing user data and content)
• Cloud Storage (storing videos and images)
• Cloud Messaging (push notifications)

Apple HealthKit

Used to access heart rate data with your permission. Apple does not receive your health data through our use of HealthKit.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Firebase, located in the United States.

Retention Periods

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Video content: Retained until you or the recipient deletes it, or until account deletion
• Heart rate data: Stored with associated video content and deleted when the video is deleted

6. Data Sharing

We share your information only in these circumstances:

• With other users: Your profile information and content you send is visible to your friends and Pulse recipients
• With your consent: If you opt in to UGC sharing, we may share your content on our official social media accounts
• Service providers: With third-party services that help us operate the App (see Section 4)
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect rights and safety

We never sell your personal information or health data to third parties.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the App:

1. Go to Profile → Settings
2. Tap "Account"
3. Tap "Delete Account"
4. Confirm deletion

When you delete your account:

• Your profile and account data will be permanently deleted
• Videos you have sent may still be visible to recipients until they delete them
• Deletion is processed within 30 days

You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@truthorpulse.com.

HealthKit Permissions

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through your device Settings → Privacy → Health → Truth or Pulse.

Push Notifications

You can disable push notifications through your device Settings or within the App.

8. Children's Privacy

Truth or Pulse is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@truthorpulse.com. We will promptly delete such information.

9. Your Privacy Rights

For European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing

• Withdraw consent at any time

For California Users (CCPA)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the App or sending you a notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
